The end of the British cricket season comes with it a flurry of announcements. Players will leave at the ends of their contracts for pastures new - it is what it is.
When you are the champions of England, you perhaps are not as vulnerable to exoduses as other counties; Warwickshire, for example, have bid farewell to the retiring Keith Barker, Jake Lintott, Hamza Shaikh, Che Simmons and Theo Wylie, but all on the club’s terms.
Leicestershire, on the other hand, are feeling the effects of relegation - a fate at the end of this County Championship season which has not yet been totally confirmed as their appeal process against a points deduction for breaching pitch regulations continues.
