Head coach Ian Westwood has hailed the influence of captain Ed Barnard upon the “growing belief” in Warwickshire’s squad that they can challenge for honours this season.
With bat and ball, the Bears produced some of their best cricket for years to brush Yorkshire aside by 377 runs – the club’s second highest ever victory by runs – at Edgbaston. Many players contributed much, notably Sam Hain with 221 runs for once out, Ethan Bamber and Olly Hannon-Dalby who took a combined 13 wickets and Rob Yates who scored 88 runs and took six catches at second slip.
