Bears have belief after hitting top of the table

Head coach Ian Westwood revealed “there is belief in our dressing room” after Warwickshire moved top of Rothesay County Championship Division One after a draw with champions Nottinghamshire.
The Bears showed their strength by forcing the reigning champions on to the defensive by enforcing the follow on at Trent Bridge. The home side batted out most of the last two days to save the game but Westwood was proud of the efforts his team made on a flattening pitch.
“Enforcing the follow-on was the only way we were going to get a result,” he said. “It was a great effort to bowl them out in the first innings from 220 for four but we knew on a flat pitch we weren’t going to blitz through them again, and we had no idea really how many we would have to set them to give ourselves a chance to get the win if we’d batted again.
