Ed Barnard reflects upon his first month as Warwickshire captain with plenty of satisfaction as the Bears take a welcome break after four championship matches in successive weeks.
Barnard and his team have a bye this week having played in the first four rounds of games. They have started well and sit top of Division One, albeit having played a game more then everyone else. They will still be nicely placed even after the other teams have caught up their games in hand.
The team has made an encouraging start under Barnard, who has taken seamlessly to the role of skipper. He has led the side capably while his personal contribution with bat and ball has been excellent.
