Hain ready to take on 'honour and privilege' of captaincy

Sam Hain is looking forward to captaining Warwickshire in the Metro-Bank One-Day Cup – a role he regards as an “honour and a privilege.”
Hain will lead the Bears in the 50-over competition, starting against Northamptonshire at Northampton tomorrow, after club skipper Ed Barnard departed to play in The Hundred. After 315 games across the formats for the county, Hain, whose 31st birthday was last week, will captain the side for the first time. Although happy to be simply one of the ranks for the 12 years since he made his Bears debut, he is looking forward to the new challenge – although he will have to chip off a bit of leadership rust.
