Mousley 'proud and excited' to captain England Lions in red-ball

Dan Mousley is “very proud” to have been named England Lions captain for their two-match red-ball series against South Africa A starting at Arundel on Friday.
Warwickshire all-rounder Mousley will lead the Lions at the beautiful Sussex ground and then in the second game at Beckenham, Kent, a week later. The Lions games will take him out of the Bears’ side for their early Vitality Blast matches but all at Edgbaston are delighted with Mousley’s recognition which shows he is very much in the notebooks of England’s selectors.
The 24-year-old was selected for England as an injury replacement in their white-ball squads in the Caribbean in 2024 and played three ODIs and four T20Is in that series. He has previously captained Lions sides in white-ball formats, leading them in their 50-over series against Pakistan Shaheens earlier this year, and now extends that role to red-ball.
