Leading scorer Joe Clarke made a defiant 94 only to be dismissed just before the close as Warwickshire maintained the upper hand at Trent Bridge, where Nottinghamshire are 264 for eight in reply to 459 at the halfway point of their Rothesay County Championship clash, still 46 behind the follow-on target.
