Hamza Shaikh staked the most emphatic claim for a first-team recall with a high-class 162 to power Warwickshire 2nd XI towards an innings-and-95-runs win over Middlesex at Richmond.
With former skipper Alex Davies experiencing a dip in form at the top of the first-team batting order, Shaikh’s knock gives the Bears selectors some serious food for thought as they consider the team for the Championship match against Somerset at Taunton tomorrow.
