A brilliant all-round display by Mady Villiers lifted Durham to a five-wicket victory over Warwickshire in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup at Edgbaston.
Warwickshire totalled an imposing 289 for six thanks to Davina Perrin (69 from 105 balls), Charis Pavely (55, 59) and Nat Wraith (54, 35). Villiers led the bowling attack with three for 38 - and then unfurled a glorious first century for Durham with the bat.
The 27-year-old struck 106 from 86 balls to underpin Durham’s progress to 290 for five with 25 balls to spare. Villiers laid a spectacular victory foundation on which Emily Windsor built skilfully to see her side home with an unbeaten 85 (83).
