A career-best score of 88 by Vansh Jani helped Warwickshire Bears to a four-wicket victory over Lancashire in Group A of the Metro Bank One Day Cup at Rugby.

Chasing 312, Warwickshire were 113/2 when 21-year-old Jani arrived at the crease and his boisterous knock proved a key contribution in their triumph, along with the innings of Dan Mousley (67, 61 balls) and Alex Davies (51 not out, 62).

Red Rose batters Marcus Harris (89, 90) and Rocky Flintoff (61, 51) had earlier helped to set the hosts an imposing total, which was eventually chased down with 7 balls to spare.

Put in, Lancashire relinquished the early wicket of Matty Hurst, who edged Oliver Hannon-Dalby (2/71) through to wicket-keeping counterpart Davies.
