Warwickshire v The Blaze Women's Metro Bank One Day Cup Report

The Blaze secured their place in the Metro Bank Women’s One-Day Cup knockout stage with a 70-run victory over Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

The Blaze totalled a meaty 282 for seven thanks to Orla Prendergast (69 from 73 balls), Georgia Elwiss (57, 64) and Kathryn Bryce 45 (66). England fast-bowler Issy Wong took five for 58.

Warwickshire were well-placed at 148 for two in the 30th over, but fell away to 212 all out in 43.3 overs. Skipper Katie George scored an excellent 89 (113) and Brooke Halliday 52 (67) but Lucy Higham took four for 41 while Charley Phillips produced the match-winning bowling effort with 8-2-17-1.
