Westwood lauds Bamber and Hain as Bears lay down title gauntlet

Ian Westwood says that all connected with Warwickshire will be Sussex and Yorkshire fans for the next couple of days after the Bears took care of their own business with another two-day County Championship win, this time over Essex at Chelmsford.
The Bears, until at least the conclusion of this penultimate round of matches, sit atop the Division One table having secured a comfortable eight-wicket victory over relegation-threatened Essex, who they had 33/7 on Tuesday morning having lost the toss and being asked to bowl first.
Elsewhere, Somerset will fancy their chances of defeating Yorkshire at Headingley but Nottinghamshire have plenty to do to overcome Sussex at Hove in the next couple of days. The Bears could only hold up their end of the bargain, which they have done so, and they will now keenly keep eyes on the happenings elsewhere and the fortunes of those also in the title race alongside them.
