"We're hoping that Chris can play some Blast games. He's working really hard to get fit and came through yesterday well. We're hoping he will be with us for the first game, and then we'll have to keep being sensible and seeing how he is game by game."

Chris Woakes is in contention to line up for Warwickshire against Gloucestershire at Bristol in their Vitality Blast opener on Friday after shining for the 2nd XI yesterday.
The former England all-rounder played for the 2nds in their 60-run T20 victory over Worcestershire at Portland Road yesterday and contributed plenty to the win. He struck fours sixes in an unbeaten 33 from12 balls and then took three for 27 in 3.4 overs.
